A fan wouldnt reduce the temperature, it would just blow hot air around |

true, i will have to find a way, since im using a faunarium i either have the 6x11 inch heat mat and cover about a 3rd of the faunarium or get the larger 11x11inch heat mat and cover like 3 quarters of the faunarium as i dont think a heat light will really go in the faunarium as its only 5 inches high |

14 degrees C now :( looking at finishing off my thermostat later tonight so could do with recomendations on just how to higher the faunarium ambient temperature as my snake should get plenty of heat from the heat mat when she is ontop of it |

29 in the summer is fine. Mine had to survived 27 to 30 as a room temp in summer, I think some other people's snakes did as well. In the wild if you think about it they would probably have days like this in summer which they cannot escape the heat as well. Although it's not ideal I would have thought it would be fine. If you can move to a cooler room of the house of or if you have a room that has a fan, that would be much better.

thanx, i think im going to have to use a heat mat but it should keep temperature more because of it being more enclosed, im still adjusting my thermometer software for my fail safes and alarms so that should hopefully be set up soon, its got a maximum output of 18W due to the wall plug im using so im limited to heat mats really |

Hiya
Just out of interest have you decided what colour you want?
The reason I'm asking is because the breeder of my Bloodred Phoenix is selling the rest of his Bloodred hatchlings for £20. He lives in Ashbourne which is in Derbyshire. |
Best wishes
Catherine xx

ok changed the program for my thermostat to show the lowest temperature reading and its 9 degrees C now which is stupid, i think im going to have to find somewhere in my faunarium to put another heat source.
i know that the snake takes in heat from its under belly so what if i have 2 heat mats, one set to 29C and the other at 21C, one either side and nothing in the middle roughly a 3rd of the faunarium, as then ambient room temperature wouldn't much effect the snake then would it? |

ok guys so ive just talked to my dad and uncle who has a couple of cornsnakes and also the support team from bluelizardreptiles who house cornsnakes, due to the cold temperature within my room i have been told to just go get a 24" wooden vivarium which is only 12cm larger then the faunarium and using that with one of the non light heaters (bulbs) and possibly a heat mat if desperate, ive created my thermometer to run up to 700W of power atleast directly from the mains, this should keep it going and ive adjusted my temperature probe and it now reads to the nearest .1 of a degree so will let you guys know :) |
