mixed news for you..
shes not fed yet but has pooped which is a good sign she was fairly active - lots of tongue flicking and still has a strong grip which is promising i guess.. they are going to try tails and legs over the next week so keep fingers crossed a little bit longer please!

Thanks for the news, Hannah! The way this was explained to me, the tails are introduced as a way to start the juices going again, in preparation to introducing pinkies, so shouldn't be long now before she downs a pinkie. Great news about her general wellbeing!

That's great news! Hopefully once she's used to something in her belly she'll realise that food is good! Can't wait to hear how she gets on! |

Haven't been on for a while so sorry to hear that your beautiful Aura isn't fairing well. I think you've done the right thing to send her for her "holiday" and hopefully they'll have her eating in no time.
Don't give up hope and please don't be down on yourself - you seem to have done the best you can for her and you seem to be a very caring snake owner and person in general |

Yeah Aura was looking a little more lively today so that tiny bit of pinkie gave her a boost. Hopefully they will get her to eat some tail or leg soon. Thanks everyone. Luke + Hannah |

Hi Hannah.
I've been following your sad saga with Aura and I just wanted to say I'm really glad she's perking up. I think you did a marvellous job and you clearly care loads for her. I'm tentatively happy for you guys |

I know that when Kellog wasnt eating a forum member (GP I think) told me that after a long period of not eating they sometimes 'forget' how to eat and that they need to eat....which is why you need to remind them - and their digestive systems - what food is and retrain them to eating again. I am praying and hoping that this is what has happened with Shen and will happen with Aura. Glad she has pooed and is active, she is not exactly acting like a snake who is starving! I know you wont give up hope HannahB, especially with Luke backing you up! xxx |

thanks guys.. shes still a bit gassy which hopefully will pass soon.. they said it was strange that not even the smell of food interested her so hopefully its just a case of her not being hungry yet.. they are going to give her a bath and see if that helps her pass the wind.. also they are going to break up the pinkie into super tiny bits as she has such a small neck and we think the pieces we have given her in the past might have been too big..
fingers crossed |

This sounds familiar: Shen too showed remarkable lack of interest in his food, shying away from it when given the chance, and even to the degree of spitting it out twice after it was already held in his teeth (during the last match which I eventually won on points )
A bath sounds good. Perhaps with some ReptoBoost for added luxury?

It is also how Kellog was when he went without for so long, as though he couldnt understand why we were dangling this 'thing' in front of him. Maybe by getting some tiny bits of pinkie into her will remind her what food is and spark her hunger. Hope so. xxx |

well good news everyone..Little Aura managed to eat a small bit of mouse tail and then a quarter of a pinkie
such a relief!!! she had to have it put in her mouth but instead of spitting it out like normal she swallowed it
I dont know about luke but i nearly started jumping about when Shaun said he had good news.. finally things are starting to look good for her
shes going to stay at the shop for a little while longer to make sure shes definately eating ok and hopefully she will start taking it for herself.
thank you all for the support - you dont know how much we appreciate it

Brillinat news! Can you please keep updating on Aura? Although she's started to eat (sigh of relief) I'd like to hear about her ongoing progress until such time that she's eating normally.
