Heatlamps can warm their bellies... it's acts like the sun, heating the objects on the ground, just like the sun would so. The wooden viv looks so much nicer than the glass one :P matches the cabinate now lol! What size is the viv it looks very swish.
Subz, it should be 27-30 for us that aren't old XD aiming for 28-29 is generally good but it depends on the stat you have, and they just have to deal with the cool end temps lol :P
The wooden viv is 4 feet (48 x 15 x 15) I have to admit I prefer it, and the reptile centre stack them 2 high in store, so I may yet buy another corn or python.
It was suggested to me by Northampton Reptile Centre to use a dual heat system as the mat only warms the snake/viv when he's on it. So use the lamp in the day but turn it off a night. I've replaced the dimming thermostat today (habistat) and will see how it works out. I can always remove it at a later date.
I checked the temperature on the mat and its running around 86, but thats with the stat in direct contact with the mat. The cool end is steady at 72.
