I know how stupid this sounds, but here goes anyway...
I had my snakes sexed some time ago and they were both suposedly male. To my surprise I have just caught them getting freaky with each other! Is it possible that we have gay snakes, or was the man who sexed them just very wrong???
I apprieciate any input as I know very little about these things.
Thanks |

IT can happen that one will mistake the other for a female, or it could be an incorrect sexing. Probably worth getting them sexed again somewhere else, were they probed? |

It may not have been sperm but female musk goop? My girl left a nice splatter when we sexed her ...yummy. |

Oh yeah tastey!!!
I hope it was, as I do fancy breeding, but have'nt got round to buying a female to put in with them yet - I suppose time will tell.
how long until eggs are produced if it turns out to have done the job? |

How old are the snakes and wot are their weights???
I would not reccomend breeding them til the female is at least 3 years old and weighs 300g. She may become egg bound and die. |

Its definatly over 3 years old, I've had that one since it was a hatchling. And I've just weighed it, its just over 300g (11oz)

We're up to six weeks, all 11 eggs looking great!
Been incubating at just below 30 degrees.
How much longer can I expect, I had six weeks (ish) in my head, but my wife's made me doubt myself, she's said 90 days????????? |

Copied from the Care Sheet on the homepage:-
'Incubation Female Corn Snakes will lay between 10 and 20 eggs, which will need to be incubated for between 55 and 65 days (7 to 9 weeks). Try to keep the eggs at a constant temperature of 26-29°C (79-85°F)'

we're now 7 and a bit weeks in and some of the eggs resemble deflated balloons?
Is this bad, or just a sign that they're ready to hatch??
They're REALLY deflated! |
