i have a clutch of 9 eggs in the incubator, from a carolina/amel stripe pairing so visually they'll all be carolinas. based on 60 days incubation they should pip around the 21st June.
when is anyone else expecting hatchlings? what pairings have you got? what are you expecting? (yes, baby snakes IS the obvious answer ) |

I surpisingly found 15 eggs inside one of my hides 2 days ago. Crunchy nut had laid them, I didn't even realise she was gravid as she was still eating normally and didn't feel or seem 'lumpy'. In fact there was NO signs she was carrying. I had last looked in on her about 2 days before that and she was going blue-eye so I left her alone in the hide as she likes to skulk away when she's in shed. Unfortunately they were laid in the warm hide and i didn't notice it quick enough. They were laid practically on top of the heat mat so they have dried a fair bit. Bizarrely she hadn't shed though, and today when i got her out for feeding she was still blue-eye. Think vet trip in order soon. Anyways, because i've been prepared just in case, I had a incubator set up ready. Whether or not the eggs are still gonna be viable, I don't know. They're now sat at a nice stable 30.5 (+/- 1 degree) with nice humidity levels. So hopefully they'll recover.
Male snake is my snow, female is my Hypo/normal. |

OK, update on mine.
So far out of the eggs, 4 have puffed back up nicely, the rest haven't recovered.
I do have one problem though....
3 of the good eggs are in a clump of 7. Where the bad eggs have gone 'off' what do others think are the risks to the good eggs?
Some people say no risk. Others say there is. |
