I thought they were diurnal too Mancunian, cos they do come out during the day, unlike Royals who are definitely nocturnal??

No I meant diurnal! They are active during the day. In the wild they are most active at dawn and dusk but hide for most of the daylight hours as it is too hot for them. Their UV requirements are low to nil because of this.

Royal pythons are nocturnal. In the wild they only come out at night.

0.1.1 Corn Snakes (Elaphe guttata) CB07 Jasper (Amelanastic) CB07 Chicomecoatl (Anerythristic Aztec)
1.0.0 Royal Python (Python regius) CB07 Tibo (Normal)
1.1.0 California Kingsnakes (Lampropeltis getula californiae) CB05 Luka (B&W Banded) CB06 Lucien (Albino Banded)

Active during the daytime = Diurnal

Active at night = Nocturnal

Active in twilight (i.e. Dawn and dusk) = Crepuscular

That last word always makes me laugh

Hope that helps.
