Two quick questions:
1) How much are those lights? They would look so cool in my vivs.
2) Are they mains or battery powered?

they are mains powered, with just a normal 13 amp plug on the end, and from what I can remember, I think they are about £10.

do what I did Daman, go to somewhere like poundland and get a timer switch for the light, then it turns itself on/off at whatever time you set.

We've finally got one of those stores in Portsmouth. It's like Santa's grotto for grown ups.

Can't speak for South Coast Reptiles 'cos I've never been there but Emsworth Aquaria is awesome.

If you go in there take a look at Bonnie and Clyde the Indian Pythons. They are amazing! I'm sure Clyde is calculating the cost/benefit of trying to eat my 1 year old son when I take him up there with me.

South coast reptiles is an awesome shop. SO much in there. Never been to emsworth though, might have to give it a go.

Back on the subject of lighting, I'm in the process of kitting out my 4' (but divided into 2 2fts) with 2 15" UVB2.0 tubes. Purely for aesthetic reasons.
