After 3 weeks of nervous waiting Mushu is finally laying her eggs, lifted the lid to check on her this morning and noticed she was holding herself strangely, and there was a lovely white egg just starting to come out!!!!!
I am super chuffed, off to uni now for a fair while so she will be plenty quiet enough until this evening when I plan to take the eggs out.
Breeders- should I be concerned that it took her 3 weeks from pre-lay shed to laying, or are exceptions to the rule quite common??

Awesome, I wouldn't worry about the 3 weeks, there are always exceptions to the rules! Just keep an eye on her and make sure that she doesn't retain any eggs. If she does then get her to the vets for a jab or 2.
Tis good news though, congrats! |

Oh Rach, at last! You have been a nervous expectant mum for so long and finally it is happening....and you got to see it beginning!!
I am so pleased for you, and also glad that we have such great experienced breeders like Mike to advise you on what you need to look out for and need to do.
