Hi everyone my 1 week is over, fed on Friday 1 large mouse, no problem feeding, got her out today for 10 mins and she was brilliant. She weighs 16oz before feed and she is 4' 5" long, problem is dont know how old she is, or if she is a she. And how do i tell if she is getting enough, after about 10 mins the mouse was about 3/4 way down with bump. |

large should be roughly the right size maybe a touch to big. at that size i would feed every 10-12 days. at that size she/he could be around 18-36months at a guess sorry thats as close as i can guess. |

Hi Jean....I think SexyChef has covered everything already, and I would certainly recommend that you feed her every 10 days. Keep weighing her before each feed, that way you can keep a track of her weight gain.
As long as she handled the large mouse ok and didnt seem to struggle to get it down then the size is right. How long did it take her to feed? Was the mouse 1.5 times the width of the snake? That is a maximum size, any larger is dangerous to the snake.
You can work out if she needs to move up in size when there is no longer a bump once she have eaten her 'dinner'.
Well done for keeping hands-off for the 1 week (frustrating, isnt it!!) and for also not handling for the 48hrs after feeding. Sounds like you have a good snake there if you were able to handle her for the first time and she was brilliant !
