Hey all.

I'm soon to collect my next two corns! Very exciting, I was thinking about getting pulse stats for them as the microclimate mat stat I have for willow has quite a range. Can anyone recommend a good pulse stat for me? Thanks in advance.

The habistat pulse stats are very good. I have 8...one for each corn, one on the hatchling rack and one on the cable which the housies are on

I find that once set up properly the temperatures stay within 0.2 of a degree most of the time, with just the occasional dip or rise of about half a degree every so often.

The microclimate stats are notorious for having a wide temperature variance. I had one originally but didn't like it. The ordinary habistat stats are apparently much better but as I had the money at the time, I splashed out for the pulse stats. Not a decision I regret and would definitely go for the same thing again in the future.

You can even get them cheaper from websites, ebay, reptile shows etc. My local petshop is selling them for £65 each! It's normally possible to get them for between ten and twenty pounds less than that if you shop around

I have habistat mat stats... but the last one I bought was a pulse and in future I will only buy pulses, they are excellent, very little temp variation at all :)

Habistat pulse, only stat I used :p temp never changes a degree. I picked all 5 of mine up for £30, which was a bargain as when I was looking at stats, the normal habistat mat stats were £25.

I have to admit although I have the micro climates at the minuet I do intend to swap to the Habistat as I've always heard good things about them

As everyone has said habistat pulse.

I had a microclimate stat and it could vary from 24 to 30 and needed constantly adjusted. Upgraded to the habistat pulse and its been sitting between 27.8 and 28.1 for a couple of weeks

I have my mats under the tanks, the microclimate stats seem to let the temp drop far lower then my habistat ones.

all my pulse stats are habistat, they seem fine :) Got one microclimate dimmer,it did let the temp rise higher then it should, when we had that hot weather. When it should have turned the bulb off.

habistat dimmer is fine to,But its set at much much lower temps.
I think it's much of a muchness.

I find the microclimates need more messing around with,to set them up etc.

Thanks all. I was looking at the habistat pulse stats, but there seemed to be several and I wasn't sure which one. Is this the one? http://www.reptiles.swelluk.com/reptile-supplies/reptile-heating-equipment-414/thermostats-555/habistat-pulse-proportional-thermostat-26741.html
The wattage seemed high and it said it was ideal for ceramic heaters? There is also a high temp one and a day and night. Any further help on the exact model? Thanks

Yep, that's it :) Corns don't need a night time drop so I wouldn't bother with the day/night one personally

Thats the one I have :) and as bunny has said, I wouldn't bother with the day and night. The wattage is high as it cane be used with ceramics other other high wattage heaters as well as it allowing running multiple of the exact same heating devices off one stat although I don't do that ;) But if you ever wanted to have one stat controlling multiple heatmats, this probably is the best stat for it.

Avoid Microclimate stats, they are terrible. Habistat appear to be a better brand.
