I picked this little guy up today (after weeks of thinking and reading up on them). So a couple of not so good photos before his settling in week. Not decided on a name yet, and will put better photos up when I can. He's the tiniest little thing and looks bigger in my 12 yr old's hands than he really is

Thanks all I'm so pleased with him, he's the smallest hatchling I've ever seen in my life though, but very calm with handling |

He was hatched on the 24th December, so around 4 1/2 months old at the moment. I got him from a breeder 35 minutes away in Elmswell, first time I've visited a breeders house I got to meet (and handle) both his parents, as well as her amazing corn collection She had some lovely cresties too, and the only thing I asked not to meet was the 2 tarantulas lol.

Sorry, I got a bit excited there and forgot to say how gorgeous he is ! Lovely that you got to meet his parents too - I would have been hard pushed not to buy several snakes if I had gone there by the sounds of it lol! |

Luckily it was only the housies she had for sale, although 2 would have been lovely I'm 'almost' decided on a name for him, have 2 in mind so just have to decide. Both are African names, so either Nuru (meaning light) or Nsia (meaning 6th born, as he was). I prefer the look of the second name, but there are 2 different pronunciations, so not sure? |

Aww lovely name :) Good luck with feeding, I've noticed Hermes prefers his pinks on the warm side (I defrost in warm water) - one day I forgot I'd got it ready and gave it to him cold and he was decidedly unimpressed, took a bit of convincing to get him to eat... The following week I made sure it was hot and he struck for the first time the moment it got close to him! |
