Aww lovely name :) Good luck with feeding, I've noticed Hermes prefers his pinks on the warm side (I defrost in warm water) - one day I forgot I'd got it ready and gave it to him cold and he was decidedly unimpressed, took a bit of convincing to get him to eat... The following week I made sure it was hot and he struck for the first time the moment it got close to him!

He's eaten He's also used to having warm pinks, so I defrosted in warm water and put it in with him. I didn't stay to watch in case it put him off. I plan to get him feeding in a rub eventually, but he's used to being fed in his little home so didn't want to change things at first. I was very surprised he had eaten it after only 15 minutes

Thanks both I can look forward to a little hold tomorrow now

Oh dear Mort, sounds like Eli is being a bit of a pain with eating
I have Voldemort stopped eating for the first time in 2 years, he's now missed for 4 weeks and I'm sure it'll go on for a while yet!

I think everyone has to have at least one problem feeder :P - Prism is still playing us about on a regular basis, and Hoggy decided not to eat last time after starting again following his shed-time mini-fast. Arrgh, they do like to mess with our heads :(

Yep Eli has been a pain since October last year. I could honestly scream at him at times, managed 6 feeds in succession recently which is the best he's done since he started faffing. Missed his last feed again though

Good job we love them isn't it!

I read on the house snake forum (or it might have been in Erik's book actually come to think of it) that it's not unusual for males to only feed once in every 3 feed attempts (assuming attempted weekly). Apparently they are just not as voracious as the females. Don't know if that applies to adults or just youngsters. Either way, Hermes has been no trouble, so maybe he is a Hermione after all lol!!

Yeah I've read that both on the forum and in the book. I'd have been happy if Eli had managed one in every 3 weeks...

At least now I know not to worry if little Caleb does miss a few feeds

Some photos taken today, shows his markings really well and he was so calm with his first handling session
