So for the past week Phoenix has been really quite and secretive in his faun and usually he is always out and about from 6pm. So his behaviour has definitely changed but with no visible signs and still taking food when he's due a feed. Tonight I decided to check on him again and finally noticed that his eyes are slightly cloudy and a different colour then usual. I'll be checking on him again tomorrow and offering him a pinkie as he's due to feed again anyway (hopefully this way I'll learn to see what he's like through his shedding period with food). I'm kind of nervous but excited at the same time haha  |

Well done on picking up his change in behaviour Natalie . I'll be interested to see if he takes the pinkie. I don't even offer mine food when they're 'blue', my thinking being that when they're in the wild they'd be hidden away somewhere, not out hunting. But the few times I've missed the signs and tried to feed them, they've refused. But there are a lot of snakes that will quite happily eat, and even be handled, while they are like this. I totally understand the nervousness/excitement....it's totally normal, for us snake keepers  .

Being new to owning a snake myself, I've discovered that Danno is quite happy to be handled and fed when blue. I noticed his cloudy eyes, but handled him never the less.. He quite happily wanders around up my sleeve popping his head out for a quick lick of the air.. And eats as regular as clockwork. |

| I've got a mixed bunch. Some of mine will just carry on as normal being handled and eating while in shed and others that simply want to be left alone. You'll soon find out what's right for your snake. Sounds like it's going to be an eater!! |

Well I checked on him again and he's definitely in blue. He's quite jumpy as well so I won't be handling him until he's shed and is feeling more comfortable, however I did try feeding him as I said I would ( i did this in his faun so he doesnt stress out too much) and after he felt more comfortable he gobbled down his pinkie

I'm glad you tried feeding him Natalie, because you've obviously got a snake that doesn't care whether he's 'blue' or not....all he cares about is food  !! At least now you know what he's like....no handling when 'blue' but definitely NO skipped feeds!

Finally got some signs...
