Hiya :)
So my little wormy Sonny can no longer be called that.
Went up to bed last night and was giving it large on the glass dancing front  Lets hope his appetite is ok, he's a good weight if he does decide to fast so I'm not too bothered about that. Will he get grumpier or will his temprament stay the same?

Hopefully, he won't change much. It's Little T's first " grown up breeding season " as well - he's roaming his viv day and night like a mad thing, but it didn't change his temperament or feeding habits. I was worried after his near close encounter with Baz, but no, both are eating fine. So fingers crossed, they'll all stay like that :-)

Like everything else it just depends on the snake.

I've never seen this with any of mine yet, and Voldemort is 5 months short of being 3 yrs old  Maybe he's a big girl like I've always suspected  |

It really is strange seeing them do it for the first time, isn't it Abzz ....as you said, your little wormy isn't little any more .
My male doesn't change temperament during this breeding season but he does go off his food. The first time he ever showed this behaviour was when I first got him and he refused his first meal with me, then his second, then his third....and it went on for 13 weeks  ! You can imagine my shock when he finally did eat, it being the first time I'd ever seen a snake eat and not expecting him to . IF Sonny does decide not to eat it isn't a big deal. I know you keep records of your snakes, so you'll see how little weight he'll lose if it does happen. This is because its a natural fast, and their bodies are programmed for it, whereas if they don't eat because they aren't well or for other reasons its more of an unnatural fast and they lose weight quicker. You may be able to get him eating again, if he does refuse, by offering him a smaller prey item than he normally has.
If you ignore the not eating part, I actually like this time of year because you see so much more of your snakes, they are out and about, trying to escape and generally wrecking their vivs .
Falice, I'm no expert but I think that they can show this behaviour from as young as 16months.

That's is a long time! It may indicate that he will stop eating at some point, especially if he gets more active....but, as I've said, it's all natural and to be expected, which makes it so much easier to handle. These corns love making our lives interesting !!

| All 5 of my male corns are doing the 'dance' lol. Have to say it makes a nice change to looking at empty vivs. Nothing seems to put Keith off his food but the others will sometimes still eat sometimes not so I feed in stages at the moment rather than on the same day so I don't waist to many mice. Joanna is just her normal self no dancing for her. All the temperaments have stayed the same really, they are just enjoying trashing their vivs. No grumpiness just more eager to come out of the viv. |

| this is my ghosts first year as well and it has hit him hard lol not stoped for ages glass dancing viv trashing the works and been off his food for about a month now i hate it when this happens my big boy is doing the same as well only he really does go to town on trashing the viv he has not eaten for about 3 weeks as well so roll on the end of breeding season lol i want my babys to eat xx |

Ooo maybe I should expect it sooner than I thought then lol. He's about 18 months, but not acting weird yet But i'm not 100% He is actually a he. I'm pretty sure he is though, I'm sure i'll find out soon. |
