I got large mice and they didn't even leave a slight bump, they were smaller than the larges I was given by the previous owner. do u think he looks a bit overweight in this pic? or is he just big boned? or am I just comparing him to baby Emmy maybe lol?

It's kind of hard to tell with just a picture, but he looks little bit squishy from about halfway down onwards to me. From what I can see in that picture he looks like he would be not quite a loaf shape, a bit more rounded than that maybe.

squishy is the perfect word to describe his look! the thing is he was on large mice (after having bought large though, I reckon they were jumbos) and I know the mouse is supposed to leave a bump, but the large I bought don't, but I don't want him getting obese! so should I just keep him on the large which leave not much of a notice bump and get him 'exercising' more on the stairs till he's less squishy?

Does it not? I see, I didn't know this! He was getting fed once a week by previous owners (and i reckon on jumbos after having seen large i bought) so this would explain his size! I've been feeding him one large every 2 weeks.

Should i continue with a large every 2 weeks?

Personally I'd put him down to a medium every 2-3 weeks, and get him out for lots of exercise up and down the stairs is a great idea, and just general handling too gets those muscles moving!

I just bought 10 large mice lol! Would it be ok to feed the large say every 3 weeks till i run out? If not i can always get some mediums, just a shame to waste them.

He's out for a handle almost every night for around an hour or so (except 48hrs after feeds), but i have to say he is very lazy! Likes cuddling up in my sleeve! Will def get him on the stairs more :)

Haha- "Mummy pleeeeease don't make me do exercise! :("

I echo Manda's thoughts.. 2-3 weeks sounds good. Large's every 3 weeks if that's all you have. How much does he weigh just out of interest? And how long is he?

Haha! Cool. I tried weighing him but i only have silly scales and the tub he fits in doesn't balance properly on the scales! So i'm not sure, but scales were jumping around anything from 670g upwards.

He's 4ft5. (definate length, measured him with tape measure couple of weeks ago, took my opportunity when my friend was holding him and he was nice and still )

Goldusts are a Hybrid animal- a cross between Grey Ratsnakes and Cornsnakes, with the caramel gene thrown in.
