I have been feeding Martha a fuzzy/fluff (both shops I get them from say they are the same) every 6 days.
After feeding recently Martha has been immediately looking for more food - having swallowed the fluff/fuzzy in a matter of seconds. It also only leaves a tiny bulge which becomes hard to see when it has moved down her body.
and it says the next stage is a hopper. I bought some from the shop but they are so much bigger than what she is currently eating I am concerned it is too much of a step up (also not convinced she will be able to swallow them!!). I was thinking instead of giving her 2 of the fluff/fuzzies. Does that sound right??
You can give 2 fluffs if you want but you might be surprised at how big a prey they can swallow. As long as the prey is no bigger than 1.5 x the widest part of the snake you will be fine. I moved mine up from 1 fluff to a small mouse without any issues so you might be ok going onto hoppers. Maybe buy a hopper and take it home so you can judge the size next to your snake and see. If you think it is to big, feed double fluffs for a few feeds and then have a look again.
Yup yup yups, I agree with both gmac and Donnie. A corn snake can eat prey as long as it isn't more than 1.5 times the width of the thickest part of their body. I find going up a size always a little scary as I can't quite believe how big an item they can eat. Not everywhere does hoppers so some people use double fluffs instead. I did double fluffs for a bit before hoppers because I had lots of fluffs left that I wanted to use so it is really up to you. If one fluff is no longer leaving a bulge it sounds like it is time to start feeding bigger food or two fluffs
