 Help my snake wont eat

Had my snake a week now so tonight i handled him for the first time and that all went well then i tryed to feed him with no success jiggled a pinkie round in his tank but he was not intrested ive now left the pinkie in his hide with him in the warm end.any thoughts on this peeps getting a bit concerned cos he hasnt eaten for two weeks now

two weeks wont do him any harm at all, just keep an eye on his weight until he does feed

was the pinky warm? that often helps, there are many many things to try

Yeah the pinkie was warm now its on the heat mat how long shall i leave it there?

Handling him then trying to feed him could be the problem. If he is not use to being handled he may be a little stressed by the experience.

It is advised to not handle the snake before feeding other than picking them up to move them into a separate tub for feeding if thats what you do.

Its nothing to worry about at all, you've only had it a week it may just be still settling in.

If the pinkie isn't eaten overnight (is very unlikely to be still there in the morning) though I'd avoid putting in a hide just in case it scares him out of there, just to the side of the entrance would be fine, the smell will soon prove too irresistible to turn down.

Yeah he is tiny my set up is basic but i think its ok its a 9 liter rub with a stated heat mat and two hides and a water bowl with paper towl substrate.

temps are good. sometimes when they are in rubs they can feel a bit exposed, maybe if you could stick som paper around 2 or 3 of the edges to give him some v=cover xx

sometime draping a towle over can make the air temp get too high, just keep and eye, if he seems over active or going for regular swims i'd swap to paper x

Take the pinky out and leave him for another week to settle before trying to feed again. Just do water change and poo checks.
