So ive been talking to someone online about buying a corn snake from her, she is a reputable snake, reptile, bird breeder.
I have found the corn i like and she is going to help me set it all up.
She is a young 'Creamsicle motley?' with a great temperament
The lady will set me up with a 2ft wodden vivarium with everything i need.
quick question:-
What should i ask the lady i will be getting the corn from?
So far im thinking what and how often does she eat?
Can i go and view a feeding?
Can i go and handle a few times?
Why is the corn for sale?
How old is she?
Whats included in the Viv set up?
Anything else to think of?
Thanks |

If its a cremiscle then its a hybrid, not that it matters but its good to know. X
That's all the main questions, when did he last shed, was it in one piece x |

You could also ask about shedding records and whether the snake has any problems shedding. I would also ask if the set up to keep the snake includes a thermostat to control the temperature, these are a vital piece of equipment. Digital thermometers to monitor both hot and cold ends of the viv are important too. I think it is a good idea to go and handle and watch a feed. I'm sure others on here will input too. I'm not good on morphs, but think a creamsicle is actually a hybrid snake - not a true corn, but again others on here will clarify this. |

Well done for getting one first of all. Then if you read through the stickys that are on the forum you posted in you wont go far wrong. Loads of good advice on their. And just so you know creamscicles are a hybrid (dont panic sounds weird but isnt) Creamsicles usually have a yellow to light orange color. They are actually a cross between a corn snake and a rat snake (Pantherophis guttatus x Pantherophis emoryi) which makes no difference as they both have the same habitats and set up requirements. As for the viv and contents look here.http://www.thecornsnake.co.uk/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=4133 Anty more questions I am sure loads will give more advice. |

make sure you not only ask about feeding and shedding but ask for the records, so if god forbid there was any problems with the snake you have records of past feeds etc |
