Im not really familiar with the UK, so sorry if I offended you. We all have our own oppinions about feeding. My pet store owner told me that live mice have more nutriants than frozen. Though i dont know why the UK looks down upon feeding live mice. Mice cuase diseases. |

Feeding live mice can sometimes make a snake vicious |

But corns are docile. Ive only been bitten once, and it was because of stress. |

I wouldn't be able to feed live mice to Voldemort anyway for three reasons.
1. Where would I keep them? I have two cats!
2. It would be too sad.
3. My snake would be a murderer!!! |

I think it is seen as more humane feeding frozen as I believe (please correct me if I am wrong) the mice are gassed to be killed and then frozen and putting a live mouse into an enclosed space with a snake can cause a lot of stress to the mouse and injury or death to the snake. I know things are different over the pond and I suppose it is what you are used to.
No offence taken and hopefully non given. |

I completely understand how hard it would be for some people to feed live animals, but you just have to have an open mind. Just think to yourself, Snakes eat live animals in nature. Nature doesnt gas them, freeze them, then thaw and serve them. Glad I didnt offend you and no offence given (: |

yes but nature doesnt keep them in a wooden mox at a constant temp and have big old humans looking in at them all the time. we keep snake, not in the wild but in our homes. i have an open mind on everything but our snakes are not wild animals, they are captive bred and do not need the danger of live feeding. the rodent can to endless amounts of damage to the snake. live feeding is purley done for our enjoyment and therfore we endanger our own snake for our own enjowment.

Im pretty sure that I dont have blood lust adamasrc. I feed live because live have more protien and different things than after you freeze them. That, and frozen gets expensive. |

think the main issue here is that feeding live would violate the animal welfare act 2006. |

Your looking at a teen who does it so that my snake can be as healthy as possible. I dont sit there at watch them eat. The only thing I watch is if they get the mouse because I know mice can harm a snake if left in with a snake. |

well then, thank you. But you can't deny there are a lot of people that live feed as they enjoy watching their snake kill something |

there is no proof that a snake that eats frozen and a snake that eats live are any different. it is cruel on the mouse to breed to kill. and everyone knows the costs invold when getting an animal so i fail to see the reason to live feed.

In the wild, snakes eat live animals. It makes no difference if theyre in captivity. |

and in the wild snake die from prey bites. i aim to keep my snakes a optimum health, which feeding them frozen is how to do it. i am not willing to risk the life of my snakes for the belief that a fresh mouse that could do harm or have any illness is better than a mouse reared perfectly for its purpose.
