Hi I've got my heat mat for my faunarium and I've put it underneath the faun but its been plugged in for a couple of hours now and isnt getting that hot yet, its only gone up to 22... Does it take ages to warm up or should it do it nearly straight away? Also would it be better putting it in the actually faun instead of just underneath? Dont worry theres so snake in there yet, wanted to get set up first |

Ok ill just keep checking on it, its only a 7w heat mat but ive read on a few sites that 7w is sufficient for a faun... |

tbh i havent a clue what mine is lol, is it 1/2 to 1/3 of the floorspace? and how much substrate is on top of it? you really dont want much coverage on the heat mat |

It covers pretty much a 3rd of the floorspace and there is just enough for the snake to burrow it, which isnt a lot considering it'll only be a little corn |

Your best bet is to get a stat, then plug the heat mat into that. This will allow you to control the temperature a lot more :) |

whats beneath the mat and the desk/place where the faun is? try putting a poly sheet or cardboard underneath it to insulate it a bit. i needed to for mine as its sitting on glass. |

try removing the substrate from the warm end so its literally scattered. your gonna put a hide over it anyways the substrate really stops the heat. |
