I feed my corns (2-3 months old) fluffs is this ok ?? Is it too big? Could this be why my corn reguged ?

My corn ate last saturday and ate it fine and looked like it digested it fine but, on wednesday he regurgitated, you couldnt tell it was a fluff it had digested quite a bit it was just grey and streched out :)

I would bet it regurged because the heat is not regulated. Snakes that are exposed to prolonged overheating dont do to well.

I hate to ask this but have you ever read a corn snake care sheet or any of the general keeping stickies? If so did you understand them?

that was my next comment, you need to read up quickly on the general care, and then read it again and more and again and more!

Thats a bit rude. An awful lot of people are advised that a stat is not required for a mat. I myself bought 2 corns from a rep shop and was told stats are not necessary on mats and that they themseleves do not use them. They were willing to sell one to me but said it was an unnecessary expense. You tend to believe what rep shops tell you when you first start out. And I have read care sheets that say a mat is not necessary but can be used to regulate heat if required. Jumping down peoples throats dont help matters.

This seemed a very friendly forum when I first found it but some people seem to think they know everything and there way is the only way.

see previous post and comments where the person i directed this to has ignore and infact done the opposite of all advice given, im sorry if i seemed to snap but i was getting frustrated when when it seemed like we were throwing advice a a brick wall. all the care sheets, books and sstore i went and read 'before' i got my snakes said that stat were needed unless you have a low wattage one, and its better to be safe than sorry. im sorry for any offence, and i have deleted the post.

doesnt really matter how frustrated people get at responding to posts, unless there is anything constructive in the reply please dont, we were all beginners once and started somewhere. The shop (no surprise) didnt say a stat was necessary this is the most common deficiency with shops.

Skipping back to the original question irrelevant of the misguided care issue.

You feed your corn snake a mouse that is no more than 1.5 times the size of the snake at it thickest point. So the fattest part of the mouse cant be any bigger than 1.5 times the size of the snake at its fattest point. This is a maximum size guide though, you can feed smaller than that.

(with the regurge issue you need to feed something smaller for a few weeks once the rest period is over. see the regurge sticky for info).

Anery Corn snake SPOT. Royal Python, DUKE. Hogg Island Boa, SANKE. Albino House Snake, HAL.
Harlequin Crested Gecko HARLEY

Chilean Rose Tarantula TRIXIE. Brazilian Salmon Pink Bird-eating Tarantula SAM. Orange Baboon Tarantula BORIS.
Giant Asian Forest Scorpion, SALLY.
Giant African Land Snails, SHELDON & MICHELLE.
