OK I have been buying my orchid bark substrate in clear bags from the local reptile shop but asked if they could sell me it in bulk, they did, I got the huge sack but noticed it says pine bark on the side. I asked and he said it must be just the bags they are using as this is the same stuff they always use. I doesn't smell of pine, never does and is totally fibrous and absorbent but that little seed of doubt has been planted now.
Now by my own knowledge I know pine is unsafe for reptiles and would have thought the same applied to its bark.
Excuse the Boa eating but this is the best pic I have, does this look like orchid bark or pine bark

Its OK I've checked it with some confirmed orchid bark, its the same stuff. |
