Hi everyone, hope all`s okay x

Tobasco`s viv is due to be cleaned out and i was thinking of using reptile bark chip in his viv (dont know if this is the right name, so correct me please.) ) I`ve heard that is good at holding extra humidity. I was planning to cover only about half of his viv in it though.

Would you reccomend this? Would i have to buy a humidity thermometer? What would the humidity have to be?

Thankyou :) x

If its orchid bark it is good at maintaining higher humidity when its wet/damp or absorbing humidity if its dry. The thing that makes it a right pain in the backside is corn poo becomes almost invisible on it. I use it for my Boa and Royal but they dont toilet every 2 seconds and when they go its easy to spot. Its also quite expensive for what it is too, I only use it because it looks great and smells lovely too.
Aspen is better for corns though I don't use it I like beech chips.

You dont need to do anything with humidity as the cornsnake lives in a similar humidity to the average home. I've got hygrometers in all my vivs, and I have taken the batteries out because they dont tell me anything important.
