She has had her second feed tonight since we brought her home. She was definitely up for it! Discovered it's easier to slice the pinky when it's still frozen - just a little slit down the back, then when it defrosts there's a bit of blood and that seemed to get her excited and she went straight for it.
Should I try her on two pinkies or just leave her with the one? She ate Monday and again tonight.
How often do hatchings shed? |

Question - I've read lots of different things by Googling. What do forum members think to the issue of a snake defecating when you handle them? Ours has done it a couple of times. It does just look like normal poo but some suggest it is musk which they do when they are stressed or uncomfortable. |

Hi, we got our first corn about 6 weeks ago and just picked up another Amel Albino on Sunday. Got to admit that this snake keeping is really addictive. |

Hi, not posted anything for a while. Well yes it's true, once you have one you want more! Amelle is just over two months old now. She's a great feeder and has shed twice with 4 weeks inbetween each shed. I am amazed how quick she is growing but can't wait for her to be 'proppa' big! Question I have is, when should I up her feeding to fuzzies? She is now on two pinkies and swallows them pretty quickly. Is it just a case of trying to see how she manages on a fuzzie? I've noticed that the size of pinkies varies from shop to shop. What size should she be before I can move her into a 3ft vivarium? That will be her permanent home. |

Hi NicNacz - I think they just do it as when you handle them as they move about a lot and that seems to stimulate them to poo! Mine does the same. I usually have a towel on my lap just in case. You can tell when they're ready to go as they seem to stop still for a bit before the deed is done. I don't think it's anything to do with being stressed as Amelle always seems very chilled when she is out. |

We only used to keep the usual cats and dogs. Now got two corns Khan & Fred along with three bearded dragons Flo, Patrick & Star and my 6 year iold daughter has now informed me that she would like a Tortoise too. However my favourites are defo the corns. They are both under a year old but so addictive to handle and watch. |
