Hi, we have just brought our new Amel home. Wanted to connect with new corn snake owners to share ideas and notes. Read loads aboutthem before deciding to get one. We got ours from a local breeder. He was very knowledgeable and helpful and he had a wide variety of reptiles. Hopefully the first time of feeding in a few days will go well. Have to say never done it before so hope it goes well. Breeder said it's likely to be a female so we shall see.
I've always been an animal lover but only recently considered trying some more exotic things. I have a feeling it will become addictive! |

Hey, welcome to the forum congratulations on getting your first Corn. You may be best to give your snake a week to settle in before feeding, moving into a new environment can be stressful for snakes. |

Hi and thank you all for your messages. I can well imagine it will become addictive as there are so many beautiful morphs. We have been leaving her well alone and I read that even the smaller hides can still be intimidating or that they don't feel secure in them so I have put in some scrunched up kitchen roll so she feels more enclosed. Will leave the feeding for another few days but did check on her earlier and she is skulking around her faun and I hear that can be a sign of hunger, but will leave it another day or so.
Just been reading the guide posted by Mick and I am impressed at the dedication people have to their snakes and other reptiles.
All very knowledgeable, intelligent people so look forward to reading all the other good advice.
Have tried to upload a photo but it looks a bit too complicated for me! But trust me, she is pretty lol.

That's a quote I always use at work! No question is a silly question if you don't know the answer! Been reading lots about feeding so when the time comes hopefully it will work. |

Silly question "Snake mite" appears under my user name. Is that a category automatically given to new forum members or can this be edited? |

i think the passion about snakes is because they are so easy to keep and completely different personalities :-)
I'd have another :-) |
