hey guys,
chihiro hasnt eaten since we got her home, we left her a good week and a bit to settle in, with the exception of a few pictures.

and i heard about boiling pinkies, iv tried braining them, leaving them in the faun with it covered and dark. etc.

i was wondering how one goes about boiling the pinkies?

Thankyou :)

Firstly how long since she's eaten.

Is your setup correct, what temps are you getting etc

Is she due to shed soon?

according to her chart she last ate on the 9th May, which is why im worried, temps are alway between 29 - 31, never over or under that.
she doesn't seem as if she is due to shed soon, her colours are still vibrant, no clouding or blueing in her eyes, and no milky belly.

im just a worried snake mommy

Don't panic. It's only been 2 weeks so that's nothing really. Might be an idea not to handle her at all until she has eaten with you. Don't disturb her, only go into her tank to change her water and spot clean.

What size tank is she in? How do you normally try to feed her and how often?

Your temps are a little high so you could try knocking them down by a couple of degrees. I take it your using a heat mat controlled by a thermostat?

she came in a faunarium because she is only a hatchie, im not sure how big it is, think its large exo terra faunarium. normlly i move her into a seprate tub with no substrate in it, and put the pinky in with her, iv tried just laying it down, and also dangling it abover her head, and she was having none of it.
yea i have a thermostat with a heat mat. ill turn them down.

for future reference if i do decide to boil a pinky for her if she carries on to refuse food, how do you boil the pinkies?

I really don't know, I have never done it. I thought the mice had a habbit of popping when you boiled them.

Just give her some more time to settle and leave her be. Don't offer her food too often, it will only stress her out. If she refuses, wait 5 days and try again. You seem to have tried alot in a short time which seems like you may be trying too often.

I have a 4 month old hatchling and for the moment have had no feeding issues but in case she does i know there's braining, leaving them in faun over night or you can dip the pinkies in tuna/salmon juice tinned in mineral water. As said your temps are a bit high, mines is between 28.5/29.5*C.

When i feed mine i take pinkies out the freezer the night before and warm them in their tub over boiling kettle, while it's boiling to make morning cuppa. She gets fed every wed morning after i've had my morning cuppa lol.

Mind is changing on snakes I want now lol so am researching these to find out what would be best - Milk Snakes and Dwarf Boa possibly - Crawl Cay, Sonoran, Tarahumara or Vera Cruz and poss a Hoggie, African House and Rat snake. Also Trinket Snakes.

Just out of interest where did you hear about the tuna/salmon method? I heard of it for hoggies but not for corns.

I'm sure I read it on a thread that someone used this with their corn to get them to feed, can't remember who posted it.

I know someone just got their hognose feeding by scenting with sardines but just didn't know if its something corns would go for.

Just reminds me of the 'can I feed my snake a prawn' topic!! lol
