about 6 month ago my amel (jaffa) started turning his food down and hasn't ate since.even after trying different prey like chicks, rats and smaller mice he still wouldn't eat so i have had to try fresh killed today.
its not a road i wanted to go down unless needed but after weighing him the other day he has lost just over 130grams.
beacause of this i have now started to breed my own mice.
the only reason i can think as to why he wont take frozen is that his previous owner might have fed him live mice according to the shop i got him from but either way im just glad to see him eating so fingers crossed this continues happen.
the only reason i havn't taken him to the vets is because he has shown no other signs of been ill and he has continued to be active and social.
if any 1 has any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated as i have drained all the knowledge from my brain on this matter.

Well done on getting him to eat. I would have taken him to the vets and get him checked for parasites, in fact I still would. Whats his set up like?

at moment he is in a large rub with a few hides and water bowl as i thought it was the viv that was upsetting him because he had been kept in a rub when i got him.i use news paper for substrate at moment to reduce chance of mites or any thing like that even though i have given him sum oil baths i wanted to be safe as possible but have not spotted any mites ever if this feed is a 1 off then i think the next step is the vet
