As lotabob said, give her the opportunity to use a nesting box and give her some privacy. I really do wish the best for her. If theres nothing by tomorrow though,I think you should try to get in touch with an exotics vet if you've not seen a specialist already as I'm sure that despite you're lightheartedness you don't want to lose her.
Honestly, i am wondering if he bothered with the vet at all. there is a serious lack of information here. |

Fingers crossed she will lay tonight, if nothing happens though I'd be straight back on the phone to the vet. |

Surely if she has eggs inside her but not laying them she is egg bound. Can't believe any vet would say otherwise. |

Cammy, you must have very understanding parents. I am assuming they are paying the vets bill and letting you have time off school to take her to the vets. Don't think mine would have allowed that when I was your age. |

If the Vet has said she is not egg bound then he isnt a specialist, the whole definition of being egg bound is being unable to lay the eggs, which she is clearly demonstrating. |

No dictionary definitions in this house. Just having a good day saying it correctly. Makes a change lol. |

nobody's saying you didn't go, we're concerned about your snake as the vet doesn't seem very competant from what you've said about the consult........ |

People are worried Cammy, for you and the snake. The vet sounds useless and the way things are going you are looking at 2 outcomes, both not good at all. She could well die from this or need an operation to remove the eggs which is not only stressful for an already sick snake but very expensive.
We have all been following this since the day you posted about her laying 1 egg and unfortunatly the vet you have gone to seems to think waiting 3 more days is going to help her. I just hope she makes it through this. |

if the oxytocin was going to work i'm pretty sure it would have by now..........did the vet confirm that? if not, phone them up and ask for a timescale for things to be resolved or reviewed. i'd also ask them when surgical intervention is deemed neccessary as, by looking at the timescale of this thread, i'm sure it'll be in the next 24hrs........ |

Its a truely rubbish situation for someone new to snakes to have to deal with but its gone on too long now, the vet should have told you a clear and definite plan with what to expect, what to do if things go wrong, and what actions are required. I'm a newbie so can't give you the type of detailed and very important information that Mike can. I can see why people are questioning whether a vet has examined the snake due to the lack of information it appears they have given you considering the very urgent nature of the situation.
Everyone on here is following your story and we are all very concerned that the immediate action that is now required in order to save your snake's life appears to have not been taken or planned for. Its very unlikely that you'l see the eggs laid naturally now, they have been stuck for too long and the injection given to the snake would have taken effect by now if it was to be effective, its now plan B, I think there is a way for a vet to release the eggs provided they are low enough otherwise its an operation that is required to remove the eggs. Its a bit of a bad situation but it is the situation you are facing and if for any reason you can't take that action you need to very quickly say so and see if someone on here can take on your snake though its unlikely anyone will considering the health of the snake at the moment or (and I hate to say this) have the snake put to sleep to prevent suffering. |
