200 degrees thats unbelievable, who would ever need a mat even close to that temp. It amazes me that there isn't a self regulating mat or maybe there is and I've just not EVER seen one. Maybe its one for dragons den. |

i think Habistat mats claim to not get over about 32*C.........load of **** in my experience though and certainly NOT a reason to not use a stat!  |

I had my mat rigged outside the viv while I got to grips with the stat and decided after sorting temps out on the stat I unplugged it and ran the mat without a stat, it hit 38 degrees quite quickly and then continued to rise over the next 2 hours to a max of 39.7 degrees. Anyone who is using or thinking of using any piece of heating equipment without a stat is seriously risking the health and life of their animal.
The price of a stat is nothing compared to the price your snake will pay if you dont have one. |
