almost looked like a fit. never seen it before.

i've known corns do that when i've made them jump, not deliberately spooked them lol, but they go a bit mental for a minute or two till they remember how to get into their hide

what kind of thrashing about?? just generally charging about, or something that looks bad?? is the snake alone in the viv or does it share?

He's probably practicing jumping xD
Does he throw himself around - like scared - or just kinda "rumpus'ing"...
My Aia crawls all over the place (and very active crawling) and then falls and lands all over the place and often in her waterbowl - which starts her...

I am no expert and havent experienced any health problems with my snakes....but the fact that this happened while you were in bed and therefore not when he was startled, and that it was a vertical thrashing rather than him crashing around his viv would concern me.

The only thing I have had close to it was when Kellog had mites and I didnt realise it....he had been in 'snake kennels', caught the mites and gone 'blue' while there. He shed a couple of days after coming home and he was literally trying to tear his skin off, it was horrible to watch and we immediately realised the problem and got him out and into water to treat the problem.

Has it happened again since or was it just a one off (that you are aware of)?

Mods....should this maybe be moved to the Health section?

I dont want to worry you Anna, as I say I am no expert, but I would be concerned and it may be worth trying to find a local rep vet and giving them a call for advice.
