Hiya
Well I've decided on getting a female Bloodred Corn, plus I'm currently chatting to a breeder that has some available and I'm waiting to choose one.
So once the faunarium (the large Exo Terra flat one is okay for a hatchling isn't it?) and other bits are done and setup, I can collect her. I'm so excited, I feel like a kid at Christmas, I can't wait.
I've no idea what to call her, so I'd best get my thinking cap on. It was really easy for my son to name Tango, as hes orange and my son drinks Tango. Its funny you know, the name Sassy came into my head just as I was typing the first part of the paragraph before this, so I'll keep that name in mind. How do you lot choose the names for your Corns?
Btw once I've chosen her, I'll post a pic on her to see what you think.

Best wishes

I think the Bloodred colour is one of the nicest colours that Cornsnakes come in and its very popular.
You got any pics of your new addition?
Right I'm off to bed now as its late, I've got to be up early tomorrow as I've got a hospital appointment at 9am (eek!!!). Night x |

It took me over a week to come up with my Ruby's name and before that I'd rejected Arrow, Button, Sapphire and Stig, all names I liked but just didn't feel right and then yesterday I thought what about Julys birthstone which I found out is Ruby and it felt right but I also wanted a boys name in case I need to change it in the future and that led me to Kaiser for a boy, Kaiser Chiefs sang Ruby!
I didn't want to be in the position that Jordan is in (my son) he named his snake Savara and she is now a he and for him Savara is a girls name. |

LOL! Great minds think alike! There's a thread going on general posts about names.
You've reminded me about Sassy - I have a male royal python (and I missed him off my list!) called Shahi (Urdu for 'royal') and I'm tempted to get a girl - I was thinking of Susheela, Sulah, Siyaya (means 'on the move') but at present the choice is 'Seya' - favourite track by singer Oumou Sangare - she's brilliant.
Another good name, for a red snake, could be 'Salsa' ...
It's one of my favourite occupations, choosing names.
mikerichards will of course tell you to call it Dave ... |

Bloodred's are brilliant =] I can finally handle my little one today after the no handling week! So I'm just waiting for it to be a bit darker and get him out, don't want to scare the little guy =]
I'd say wait until you've picked her up and got her home, they do have their own little personalities so it comes easier that way =] |

True, but I once had a cat, two dogs - oh and another cat, who told me months before ... it's weird!
But yes, I've had them arrive and literally tell me what their name is.
Names are important! |

Well I've got everything I need for my new Corn, I've got a faunarium, a mat and a Habistat mat stat (for now until I can afford a pp stat), a twin probe thermometer, water dish, 2 hides made from egg box lids and a plant for covering over the inside, so everything is ready for the hatchling now. I don't need anything else for now, do I?
I've paid a deposit on the hatchling, so I will be picking it up next time my husband has been paid (09/09), so I can afford to finish paying for it.
I've still not chosen a hatchling yet so once I've done it I'll post a pic on here.
The time had better not drag, cos I'm really excited lol lol.
