I want to go to the show at Donny but was wondering if anyone can help me out with some info.

Do you have to pay to get in and how much? What time does it start and finish?

What is parking like up there? Is it usually really busy and what alternative parking is good?

Any other tips for a newby to these shows?

I went on the doncaster dome website but it doesn't even mention the rep show on it's list of events let alone give any info. Any help appreciated

its on 26th September, IHS members get in early 10-10.30am i think, then the general public from 10.30-11am (will have to check)
it was £5 in last year and VERY busy!

there's a huge carpark but the Dome also runs it's sports activities as normal so it's still busy though other parking is easily available within a 5 min walk of the venue

forum members usually meet at the pub over the road (the name escapes me!) and there's loads of parking there

hope to see many forum members next month!

more info re. times, admission, location, directions etc, is here
http://international-herpetological-society.org/site/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=52&Itemid=84

tips for first timers:
set yourself a budget unless you have more money than sense lol
take some cash as cash machines will be busy or empty and not all vendors are set up to take cards
research the species you're interested in and if possible get the set up ready for your return
research prices of species and/or equipment you want so you know if you're getting a good deal
if buying frozen food take a cool bag/ice packs for the journey home(Simon's Rodents will usually look after it until you're ready to go)
meet other forum members at the pub, they could change your life
................................i'm sure i'll think of more

there's usually a 'who's going?' type thread in the run-up to the show

oh and the IHS have a 'creche' for any reps you purchase so you don't have to carry them round or put them in your car while you carry on looking round i think its a free service but don't quote me on that one!

I see on the pics from last year that you all had speacial t-shirts. How do we get some? It would be brilliant that we can identify each other easily. Anyone want to add me on facebook so we can sort out meeting up my name n email is in my profile. The pic of Jack is my current FB profile pic. Let me know who you are tho unless its obvious. Can't wait to meet some of you guys in the flesh

Lewy got the T-Shirts made through his work last time, but I think he has changed jobs since then, but he may still have contacts I suppose.

The pub is called Cheswold and is next to the Cinema across the road. There is also an Asda across the road in case anyone need refreshments and the nearest cash point.
