Mites are usually blacky/brown things.
Not sure what they are, unless they are little beasties that have been living on your bark or wood chips |

I'd definitely give the viv a good going over with some hot water and sterilizing fluid if you've got some.
I don't think they'll hurt him, because I think they are wood dwellers rather than parasites, but they aren't nice.
Check Skittles just to be on the safe side, as mites live under the scales so you can see them crawling about on him. Also bake or freeze any of the bark chips you've got before you put them in the viv. This should kill any wood dwelling beasties living in the substrate.

As Kaz says, they don't look like mites and have probably come from your substrate, give it a good sterilising.

I use wood chippings for my substrate and what i do before putting them in the viv is zap 'em.
3 minutes for a bowl full in the microwave, then about 15-20 mins to cool and in they go. The bowl i use is also handy for defrosting as well, as my missus calls it 'my disgusting bowl'. I use it for all my snake stuff.
handy hint: When you're next at the local dump, find an old washing machine with a round bowl door, not the angled one, and rip the door off. I've done it with a couple, and when the're cleaned they make brilliant bowls for trifles, fruit, warming dead mice and rats and other stuff, because they're huge. |

They look like soil mites that like moist places and feed on rotting substrate. They wont do any harm to your snake but can be removed for cleanliness...after all..they produce poo to XD |

oh right, yea i was use them. But the mite things came a few days after i put some bark in so that could be what did it because the wood chips were fine and they only came 2 days after i put the bark in so thats what could have done it. But i have newspaper in now but skittles in a tub type thing cus i broke the tank. But i think it was likely the bark. |

I personally believe that you should Oven or microwave ALL substrates before putting them in, just in case. At the end of the day, you don't know how many animals diseased or otherwise could have urinated on some stuff before or even AFTER things get packaged up. |
