so ive been using eco earth cocunut fibre for Mystery for the last 4 months. It comes in block formats that expand when you add water. The problem is that drying the stuff out is like a military operation and the viv humidity has reach 100%. Its dropping slowly now at 85% which is still high. Its been two weeks since i put the stuff in. Nightmare! I know zoo med have made a loose version but i cant find the stuff in the UK.

Can anyone advice on any other subtrates to use or online shops to get the loose stuff from. Oh Mystery loves to burrow. Hes also about a year old.

I know alot of people use aspen, snakes love it apparently, i've just recently changed to aspen but snape is in shed mode so hasn't explored his viv yet, so can't comment if he likes it or not, I got mine from triple 8 reptiles shop online.

beech chippings are cheap enough, widely available and come in a few different grades (size of chippings).

Beech is good, Peanuts loves it and she can still burrow fine. We prefer it too aspen as it doesn't make as much dust when your changing it.
