My female Snow Stopped eating for the last 2 weeks while i was feeding small adult mice so i tried her with 2 rat pups and she ate them straight away. She manages adult mice but takes some coaxing but has always eaten rat pups better, would it be a problem for me to just carry on feeding her the rat pups? I know they are higher in fat but she is about 2 and a half feet long (not sure about her age) and she's 3 inch's around her thickest part, so is still growing. Tia |

There is less nutrtional value in rats than mice, but maybe keep an eye on her weight & check the difference in calcium content. I did have a chart but can't find it now. If they're a lot less maybe you could add a little calcium to every few feeds to compensate. |

yeh thats what i do, feed them rat pups as a treat/change cos they all seem to love them, but then rose refused mice but would take rat pups, she's done this in the past as well. I think i'll keep her on rat pups for a few weeks then try mice again and if not go back to rat pups. thnx everyone :) |

If that's the case like I said keep an eye on her weight compensate by increasing the days in between feeds & maybe supplement with calcium every now & then.
Have a look on 'South Mountain Reptiles' I think there maybe a chart on there for nutritional values ? |

Mice are better for nutritional needs than rat pups. |
