suppose it depends on the size of the door - obviously a smaller size will flex less than a bigger one, i need to price up some 4-5mm stuff

that's about the size i need for the big bottom viv in the stak i'm building, was the 4mm stuff ok? marilyn will be going in there so i'm not sure whether to use glass?

The 4mm stuff seems good to me but it still flexes a bit. I am ordering another 4ft length of top runner to put in the inside edges to stop it bending on the sides. But if i was housing a boa, i would see if you can get deeper runners.

4mm toughened or 6mm for bigger snakes I reckon.
