I have already built a viv myself for my corn (which means i have never had a shop bought one. http://www.thecornsnake.co.uk/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=250 ). It is a good feeling building it yourself. I can do a step by step if people would like that but there are so many differant ways of doing it. Also i didnt bother with sealent on my first viv. What are the benifits?

Stops the board warping with moisture in the cracks and hence lasts longer.

I will probably seal it then but im using play wood with battons so make it sturdy so there will be loads of corners/edges to seal.

If you look at about the 5th paragraph on here it says that 'soft plywood' is made from pine.
