Don't worry Mick, with snakes it's not like taming a dog. It's a trust issue with 'em. If you feel that you can't bring yourself to handling it yet, and think it's wary of you and going to bite. Leave it 1-2 weeks. Come into contact with it only feeding & Water. (Possibly the odd spot cleaning.) Then you can be more assure about it trusting you, and letting itself be handled.
Cheers for that Will see how the feeding goes tonight. Luckily my mother in law is dating a guy who use to be a snake breeder and knows his stuff, so he gonna be supervising the feed tonight, make sure I do it right ;) Will keep you posted |

Just started handling my new corn. Was told to be gentle, but confident, not grabbing. Better to go from mid-way, underneath him so he knows you are there not to eat him. It's brilliantMy corn is very active at the moment, think he may be ready to go up to 2 fuzzies. Will check with Matthew at Tpets.co.uk. That's where I got him from. Gave sound advice, which has been echoed by everyone above! Great forum for learning and being given advice, hints and tips isn't it! You will soon get used to him. Enjoy! |
