We have been advised to hold off feeding our yearling until tomorrow, but for the last 3 nights he has been searching round his viv, I don't know if he is looking for food or a way out! Are they normally as active as this at night? We only picked him up on Wednesday, he seems very forward, although we have been advised to make sure he feeds twice before we handle him. Would appreciate any comments. |

Corn snakes are nocturnal so will be more active at night! Just follow the advise you have been given and everything should be fine! |

Got mine on thursday (about 8 month old) and he's doing the same thing. Sniffin around the top of the faun, looking like he wants out, and burrowing through his substrate. Not sure if this is normal, but wanted to let you know you're not alone |

i'd not feed him for a week, leave him a full 7 days to settle in then try a feed. |

Thanks for moving me to the right place Gingerpony, I knew I would make a hash of it. I thought I was the only one who wasnt getting a welcome or a comment! Need to practice this a bit more. Thanks for the advice so far. |

He will be fine - just checking out his new crib.
Follow GP, leave feeding him for a week, then try. Mine is currently sat in leave leaning over to the viv door, then falling in the waterbowl, this has been repeated 6 or so times.
He's just pottering about, nothing to worry out. Its worth watching him - theyr'e very fascinaiting! |

That's just what I'm doing now, he is in our bedroom. I have a very understanding hubby. LOL! He seems to stretch as high as he can go, then falls over! Keeps doing it though, must be genetic. |

Sounds normal to me. Corn snakes love to burrow through their subtrate. |

all snakes do that stuff :) they loooove burrowing like there's no tomorrow, Tartan used to leave little tunnel systems all over her viv that she'd use to hide in lol.
And regarding the stretching and falling over, I love it when they do that, its soo funny! They seem to look genuinally confused :D |
