I read that you take a snake out and put in a diff box to feed, and then you are not meant to handle them for a few days. How do you put him back in his home wihout handling? told ya it was silly lol
I assume you are allowed to just gently lift him back in??
Another thing, the fella I am getting the snake from has been feeding it in its faun, I would rather the other way of a feeding box/tub, will this stress/confuse the snake, or will he just adapt??

Yeh it doesnt mean absoloutly no handling at all :) Just once he's finished feeding, gently lift him, avoiding the lump from his food, and place him gently in the viv, then leave to digest for a while
And on the matter of feeding in a box, I think snakie wouldn't really care where it was feeding, as long as it's got food. But you may indeed find it doesnt want to for the first few times, but jsut keep perservering |

I just take her out, put her in the tub with her dinner, wait till she's eaten and place the tub into the viv until she crawls out, then take the tub out n shut the door. |

Wasn't it Spedz that provided the best analogy??
Something like: When you have a big meal, you're fine to walk to the sofa, but won't go out for a jog
Not verbatim, but close to what was said, in the sense that a small pick up to return to viv should be ok, but not a full on handling session.
edited for ccorrect name. |

Alice refuses to eat anywhere but in her viv. I put her mouse in a plastic food container in the viv. That way it prevents her ingesting any substrate. |

I feed my snow corn in its viv, i have been led to belive that you only feed like boa`s & pythons in a different container. I have fed mine since ive had her in the viv, && my other snake i have had for 6 years has been fed in the same viv for 6 years, she has never bitten me, i just leave her for 48hours after feeding her. Hope that helped a little bit :) |

My sid used to assume that anything that went into her viv was food, hence why i started feeding her out of the viv. But the substrate point is very good. |

the main risk with feeding in the viv isn't for our benefit (less chance of being bitten) it's for the snake's health - NOT INGESTING SUBSTRATE! |
