Hey guys Just a quick question...
I fed my snake her first fuzzy almost two weeks ago now and pretty soon after that she went into a shed. Because she was in blue on her usual feeding date this week i didnt try to feed her. She eventually shed (a perfect, straight forward shed like usual) about two days ago. Because she missed her feed i decided to feed her tonight. I took her out of her shed and ut her in her feeding box, like usual and everything seemed fine. Then when i offered her the fuzzy she immediately went for it (this is unusal as usually i have to wiggle her food a while before she takes any interest) and proper coiled up around it. It was the first time ive seen her do it. Then as she began eating it her tail started proper rattling. She did this on and off throughout the entire feed. This is the first time i've ever seen her do this. I know that they tend to do this when stressed or scared but, apart from the fact that i was feeding a fuzzy rather than pinkies, i did everything the same as usual. Any other possible reasons why she might be doing this? maybe the size of the mouse? the warmth of the mouse (it was defrosted in warmer water than with the pinkies)? or was it just too soon after the shed? Im just concerned as she's never reacted this way before and if it's something im doing wrong then id lik to find out now before she gets too stroppy teenager on me! |

Haha, it's completely fine.
If I get too close to mine when he's eating; he'll rattle.. It's a "this is my mouse, go away" kinda thing.. ^^

As you said yourself. Wait till it gets bigger and starts doing it. Really intimidating then. |

Nout to worry about, rattlesnake impersonation as they can't bite with a mouse in their gob. Best to hang back if she does this; only because if she keeps rattling her tail, she feels unsecure feeding, and we don't her to think when she's eating with you that she's gonna get attacked
