Got my glass viv set up with a heat mat underneath. I have a temperature on the glass bottom off 85.5 but on top off the substrate it is only 76.5. Is this ok or do i make the glass 90 degress which i thought might be too hot and the substrate 80 degrees. Also the cool end is only 66.7 degrees,is this too cold and if so how do i raise the temp in the cool end. Thanks for any advice. |

I would reduce the level of substrate on the hot side until the snake is almost on the glass (keeping the temp the same). As for upping the cool end, maybe moving it to a warmer room? |

I have only put 1cm of substrate over the heat mat. Believe it or not matty it is in the warmest room, maybe i should move to an igloo lol. |

In that case I would totaly level the substrate in the hot end so there is almost nothing there. I wouldnt worry to much about the cool end temp. |

Ok I have levelled the substrate to nearly nothing, just barely covering the glass and the temps are now 87 on the glass and 80 on the substrate so i think this is now ok. Thank you matty and gingerpony |
