My blooming moggie has a habit of catching mice but tonight he's brought one in thats very much still alive. Got a hole in it's side and i don't know what to do with it.
NO - i'm not feeding it to a snake NO - i cant put it out of pain - just cant do it!
and i know if i set it free Ozzy will have it again in seconds so at the mo it's in a faun in the kitchen. I've shredded up some kitchen roll, and given him a box to hide in, i'm looking after a neighbours Hamster this week too just just been over and pinched some food for it - now what on earth am i supposed to do with a wild mouse in a faun in my kitchen????????? |

well that mouse will have alot of bacteria and disease crawling over it. If the whole is serious then you have to put it out its misery. either that or release it somewhere. but keeping it prob aint a good idea with your snakes around! |

Not a good idea, keeping it. Unfortunately my cat does this regularly, so i have my own way of removing the issue. Your best bet is to just go a hundred yards or so down the road, and put it next to a garden or hedgerow or similar. Regardless of it's injuries.
If you're not keen on 'helping' the mouse, then it's best to leave it up to nature.

Not many mice survive after been attacked by a cat, specialy if its already drawn blood. Their tiny hearts can't take it and just give in. |

Thats what I was going to say. Kill it and lob it over a hedge/fence etc. It will be food for something else. |

Micky popped it during the night... at least i didn't have to do the deed. Sorry peeps take away the bike leathers and tats and underneath it all i'm just a big softass girl who cant kill anything. Silver lining is i didn't have to clean mouse guts out of the bath this morning i suppose.
Oh and your all a bunch of heartless rodent killers!!! lol |

my kitten brought home a baby squirral and the other brought home a mouse both still alive so we looked after them over night and let them go. hour later police turned up and fined my mum coz its an offence to release rodents into the wild. just thought you wud like to know if you didnt already :)

Oh he generaly just disects them all over the bathroom, birds are worse the feathers get blooming everywhere, or another trick is to put them in his biscuit dish to save for later. |

Out of curiosity, how did they know it was her?
It IS an offence to release non-native rodents into the wild, (hamsters, Gerbils, etc), but as far as I know it wasn't illegal to release native rodents. Why do you think that you can buy humane mousetraps? I think someone had a grudge against your mum. |
