i have a 19 month old female corn and one or two of her scales are flaking off, is this serious or will it sort itself out when she sheds? i'm really worried because i've never seen this on either of them before? please help |

Are the scales coming off totaly (to reveal pink flesh), or are layers of the scale coming off? |

yes a pic would help clarify things a bit, could it be stuck shed? where are the scales that have gone, are they on her belly? could your set up be too humid and causing scale rot? |

its not revealing pink flesh but it it revealing the VERY base of the scale (no gloss, dark and dull colours, no depth) the hygrometer says it's well within accepable levels- about 55% humidity. the scales seem to be mostly on her top rather than her belly. no- the scales, before coming off, look as if its remainder from previous shed, but then they have fallen and look as described above... its very dis-concerting. i will try to fix my camera and upload some pictures to clarify. thanks |
