I have been reading about providing a hide with damp moss.
Is this essential?? I hear it promotes a healthy shed? |

It can help, but its not all that nessasary with corns unless yours is a bit prone to bad shedding. |

You could use a damp cloth. |

James has always been prone to bad sheds, so now we add a hide with damp moss as soon as we notice his eyes have clouded. He has now had his first completely successful shed (his last ones) and all the ones with access to the damp moss hide were much neater than the first few without it!
If your corn has a bad shed you could always give it a try |

Corns should be able to shed without a humid hide in general, but it won''t hurt to put one in. |

I use vermiculite in my gecos damp hide - it seams to stay moist longer and if it does dry out you can just wet it again where as moss then has to be binned and fresh put in. |
