and asking a sly question too :-)
Hi all, just recently joined this site after the wife and I purchased our first snake :-) It seems we found a winner as everyone seems real friendly and seem to know more than my local reptile house - So Hi all :-)
Our new family addition is a 2/3 month old 'Butter' named "Saber". After a little research I think we've managed to create a lovely viv for Her/Him- 2 Hides on opposite temp sides, Hollow log in the middle and water dish.
We've had Saber since sunday and are trying our best to leave Her/Him to settle, with only the minimum handling time during water bowl changing and therm/stat adjusting. Saber seemed very curious while being held and showed no signs of stress either with my wife or myself- Although Her/Him seemed to be more docile in my wife's hands than mine, is there a reason for this? or has saber picked a favorite already?
As I held Saber, He/She wrapped itself around my wrist and started to constrict, You could visibly see its body 'S' up as it tightened then relax then tighten up again, Is this normal?
I apologize for my noobish questions, but this is our first pet and we seem to be both concerned over every little thing LOL

The snake was probably nervous, it will settle in time. |

heya and welcome Saber's obviously had a good start in life if handling isn't a real issue, perhaps your OH was supporting his weight more evenly so he felt more comfortable, or maybe she was more chilled out about holding your new arrival? |

From your description it seems like it might just be the way you snake is moving on your wrsit, they don't want to fall off and so to move and keep on the wrist they need to keep a tight grip but then relax it slightly when the need to move... and welcome to the forum... peace |
