I kind of managed to stabilize the temperature at the hot end, 30 - 32°C. During the day, the temperature at the cold end is around 20°C. But during the night, it falls right down to 18°C! Is this dangerous for the snake? Would it be appropriate to put another heat mat + termostat set up at 21°C at the cold end, or would that be too much? Thanks for your help. |

Yes, it's only at the cool end. At the hot end, it varies between 25 - 32°C. |

the cool end of the viv will just drop with the ambient room temperature, there's not a lot you can do about it and it's of no detriment to the snake's health. other species like larger, heavier-bodied boas and pythons are more often heated with a ceramic bulb which raises the ambient temperature in the viv, or using a twin stat to control a mat set to 28-30*C at one end and another mat set to 20-25*C at the cool end would sort it............. but for corns there's no real need |
