My snake Sneaky only seems to hang about in the coldest part of the tank. Is this normal?

Could be normal, how hot is the hot end, how is it measured and controlled?

The hot end is about 30°C, the cold end about 20°C. He just ate two pinkies, and went straight back in the cold end. :(

I have a thermostat controlling the hot end and 2 thermometres measuring the hot and cold bit.

maybe he prefers the cold hide, have you thought about changing the end you're heating?

or maybe 30*C is a bit warm for him, you could try turning the stat down a fraction to 28-29*C

Mmmm... I'll try turning the stat down a bit then. And maybe put more hiding places in the hot bit?
