I have one of these and I'm finding it rubbish.... has anyone else encountered this or should I send it back rather than getting a replacement? |

it has a serious problem with keeping at the desired temp... it fluctuates from 26-32,ive ordered another one tho owhich should be arriving soon (along with a vine for my viv!) |

TBH with any on/off stat you're likely to get a wider fluctuation of temperature than, say, a pulse stat. not sure how much variation in temperature my Habistat matstat produces though as a comparison. |

well i had a microclimate stat and mat, got a temperature swing of about the same, you can improve the differential by placing the temperature probe in the middle of the mat with only a small amount of substrate between them might get down to a 4 deg diff i went for a dimming proportional controller now keeps within a half degree easily

i think he means pulse proportional stat i use one of them as wasnt happy with my on/off stat pulse prop is sooooo much better |

No i did mean dimming as in it varies the output in proportion to the required temperature change, clearly would only dim a lamp but the effect is the same with a mat for £30 couldn't go wrong. Dimming stats are a little more versatile since you can use them with any heat source.

i have a Komodo thermo stat and i find it ok, the same as my habistat, it drops a couple of degrees but thats to be expected |
