Its okay to get a cornsnake from anywhere aslong as your not paying too much for it & just make sure you check the snake out first, check all its scales are flat, check for unshedded skin, slowly move your finger towards its head to see if its got good vision(not recommended if its a bigger snake, they could mistake you for food). You shouldn't really need to do this at a petstore, i don't imagine they would sell poor quality pets, Then again they do try sell you all the wrong equipment lol. Wait for another post as someone else might have better advice for you =)
Not sure on the snake size to tank size ratio but a baby corn would be okay in anything small to start off with, just not sure how small is considered okay. |

A 20 gallon tank is far too large for a baby corn - that's about 3ft by 1ft, so you would only house a snake 4ft in length in a 20 gallon tank.
You need either a small faunarium (£5.50 from Wilkos is a good one) or a small sandwich box (RUB) with holes poked in it. |

depends on the size of corn ya going to get. if ya getting a young one most people just use plastic storage tubs with lids but the bigger the corn you get the bigger the tub you will need |

One of the things I've always said to people when they're thinking about getting a snake is to let the shops know you want it, but before committing to it to ask to be there for it's next feed first, to make sure its feeding OK.
All to often you hear of people getting snakes that are finicky eaters. |
